“Mimesis, variations on the book” is a collective exhibition held at the Magliabechiana Library of the Uffizi in Florence, curated by Sergio Risaliti. A pitchfork sinking into a mass of books, as if it were hay. Marguerite Yourcenar wrote in Memoirs of Hadrian: “Founding libraries is like building public granaries again, amassing reserves against a winter of the spirit that, despite myself, I see coming from many signs”. Therefore books as nourishment for the mind and as an antidote against ignorance.
The artists express themselves through large WhiteBooks installations that engage the public, addressing various themes: social issues, war conflicts, violence, including intraspecific violence. They propose culture as a means to raise awareness and escape indifference, thus becoming 'Artivism.'
