“For Venice - thinking of Indro Montanelli”
2010
Book, plaster, acrylic paint, typewriter, letter 22
92 x 60 x 30 cm
The Lettera 22 accompanied Indro Montanelli throughout his life, so much so that it became an extension of him. The journalist was sensitive to the problems of Venice sinking and wrote repeatedly on this topic; his Lettera 22 therefore sinks into a book like Venice in the water
LibriBianchi are sculptures created using real books destined for disposal, giving them a new life. Covered in white, each book becomes an icon of all books, telling stories, emotions, and feelings. It may seem like a mute sculpture, but it is not; it silently screams to be read—not with the eyes, but with the heart, as the Little Prince says.
